Valuation Analytics Senior Specialist (Energy)

Location: Hybrid in Rosemead, California, US; employees are required to work and reside in California unless otherwise noted. Relocation may apply.

Salary: $129,200–$193,700 per year

What you will do

• Provide analytical support for procurement strategy, long-term resource planning, and climate adaptation initiatives.
• Develop scenarios and use grid planning simulation tools to forecast portfolio impacts on pricing, greenhouse gas emissions, and other system dimensions.
• Evaluate solar, battery storage, and other supply- and demand-side energy resources using offer data, financial models, and validated assumptions.
• Research emerging technologies, energy market trends, policies, regulations, and new business models.
• Build and improve analytical tools, models, workflows, and quality control processes using Python, Excel/VBA, Power BI, or similar platforms.
• Forecast electricity demand and energy commodity prices, support hedging and position management, and make recommendations related to contracts, payments, and disputes.

Requirements

• At least three years of experience in financial planning, modeling, and/or forecasting.
• Ability to perform complex quantitative analysis and translate results into clear, actionable recommendations for business stakeholders.
• Experience with large datasets and analytical tools such as Python, Power BI, Excel/VBA, or similar platforms.
• Ability to work in a hybrid arrangement and work and reside in California, with regular attendance at an SCE facility.

Nice to have

• Experience with valuation, forecasting, optimization, statistical analysis, or energy market modeling.
• Knowledge of California energy markets.
• Experience developing, automating, or maintaining analytical models and workflows.
