Corrosion Engineer (Oil & Gas Pipelines)

Location: Remote within the USA, with on-site meetings and project-site work expected as needed. Projects are located nationwide across the United States; the initially identified work site is Washington, DC.

What you will do

• Provide independent engineering advisory support for DOE Energy Dominance Financing technical due diligence, credit evaluation, lifecycle monitoring, and assurance activities.
• Review corrosion mechanisms, materials performance, cathodic protection systems, coatings, inspection strategies, and asset-integrity programs.
• Evaluate project documentation, technical and commercial interfaces, assumptions, risks, mitigations, conditions precedent, and disbursement readiness.
• Prepare corrosion control plans, cathodic protection survey reviews, materials recommendations, inspection assessments, corrosion risk assessments, and independent engineer reports.
• Participate in data-room reviews, borrower and contractor interviews, site observations, monitoring meetings, risk-register updates, and issue-closure tracking.
• Coordinate with engineering, finance, legal, construction, operations, environmental, HSE, and project-controls stakeholders.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, geoscience, petroleum engineering, mechanical, electrical, chemical, civil, environmental, or a related technical field.
• 10+ years of relevant engineering, construction, operations, compliance, risk, finance, or energy-infrastructure advisory experience.
• Experience with oil and gas, power, utilities, or large-scale infrastructure projects for owners, lenders, independent engineers, or federal clients.
• Experience in technical due diligence, independent engineering review, corrosion mechanisms, materials performance, cathodic protection, coatings, inspection strategy, and risk assessment.
• Ability to perform data-room review, information-request tracking, Excel-based analysis, report writing, stakeholder coordination, and clear presentation of findings.
• Must be able to work remotely within the USA and attend on-site meetings or project-site activities nationwide.

Nice to have

• PE, PMP, CSP, API, NACE/AMPP, PMI, or other discipline-specific credentials.
• Experience supporting DOE, LPO, lender, credit, construction, monitoring, or certification decisions.
• Advanced proficiency with Excel, Access, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word; proficiency with Adobe Acrobat, data analytics tools, and Visio.
