Claim Technician (Healthcare)

Location: Nashville, Tennessee, United States; starts onsite and moves primarily to work from home after approximately 8 weeks, with periodic in-office training or duties.

Base pay: $17.75–$26.17 per hour.

What you will do

• Process complex medical claims requiring further investigation.
• Coordinate benefits and resolve pended claims.
• Apply medical claims processing procedures under supervision.
• Complete Blue Chip claims processing training if required.
• Work primarily Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Experience with data entry and/or typing.
• Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience processing medical claims.
• Ability to complete the six- to eight-week Blue Chip claims processing training program if not already trained.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of medical terminology and CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-9 coding.
• Knowledge of coordination-of-benefits principles and terminology.
• Experience multitasking and prioritizing.
• Ability to meet the applicable testing criteria.
