Dir Project Management Office

Location: Chicago, Illinois, United States

Base pay: $146,700–$272,400 per year, plus eligibility for an annual incentive bonus.

What you will do

• Provide strategic leadership and technical expertise for critical technology and business initiatives.
• Lead the end-to-end delivery of complex, enterprise-wide programs, overseeing budget, schedule, scope, resources, quality, risk, and performance.
• Translate strategic business objectives into executable programs that deliver measurable value.
• Partner with Product Delivery Leaders, IT Product Managers, and executive stakeholders to remove obstacles, mitigate risks, build consensus, and support timely decisions.
• Oversee a matrixed team of Program and Project Managers across multiple locations.
• Manage dependencies, competing priorities, portfolio decisions, and multiple parallel efforts through completion.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree and 10 years of experience in project management, program management, transformation, or a related field, or 14 years of project or program management experience.
• At least 4 years of leadership experience.
• Experience delivering large programs and working effectively across senior and executive leadership domains in a matrixed environment.
• Strategic business judgment, executive communication, facilitation, negotiation, conflict resolution, and decision-making skills.
• Experience leading teams, influencing stakeholders, managing ambiguity, and driving accountability for delivery outcomes.
• Knowledge of cost accounting, budgeting, portfolio management tools, and Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Project.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree or MBA.
• Consulting experience and extensive experience with complex program delivery.
• Health care or health insurance industry experience.
• Experience deploying and managing artificial intelligence solutions.
• PMP and/or PGMP certification.
