IT Project Manager PMP

Location: Must reside in California; hybrid work with travel and onsite requirements

Salary: $70,100–$115,000 annually

What you will do

• Support project planning, work plans, schedules, milestones, deliverables, and project documentation.
• Monitor project progress against scope and timelines, escalating risks and issues to project leadership.
• Track risks, issues, dependencies, decisions, action items, and status updates.
• Support enterprise project and portfolio management, including intake, prioritization, dependency management, and executive reporting.
• Coordinate across programs, system integrators, clients, and oversight entities.
• Contribute to proposals, client reports, presentations, and materials for federal and state oversight.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree required; a master’s degree in public administration or a government-focused MBA is preferred.
• 7+ years of relevant professional experience.
• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification required.
• Strong Microsoft Office skills, including data analytics with Access, SQL, or SPSS.
• Ability to manage projects within timelines and budgets, analyze large data sets, solve problems, and communicate with clients and management.
• Must reside in California and be available for hybrid work, travel, and onsite meetings.

Nice to have

• Experience with enterprise PMOs in public-sector or health and human services agencies, especially Medicaid agencies.
• Knowledge of Medicaid Enterprise Systems, MITA principles, CMS reporting, and federal oversight.
• Experience with multi-vendor portfolios, California state government, and California Project Approval Lifecycle requirements.
• Experience preparing governance materials, dashboards, compliance reports, audits, and oversight documentation.
