Virtual Apps and Desktops Engineer I

Location: Philippines; 100% remote. The role follows an 8am–5pm EST, Monday–Friday shift, with willingness to work nights, weekends, and other off shifts as required. Occasional travel may be needed.

What you will do

• Configure and manage virtual applications and desktops using Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops and Omnissa Horizon.
• Troubleshoot published applications, virtual desktops, and related systems.
• Provide Tier 1 technical build and implementation support.
• Test and implement client software, manage patches, and maintain virtualization stability, reliability, and availability.
• Evaluate technical solutions, maintain installation and support documentation, and create procedure manuals.
• Coordinate with technical and non-technical staff and vendors, while contributing to projects, training, and teammate mentoring.

Requirements

• College diploma or university degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field with 3+ years of IT experience, or 5+ years of relevant IT experience.
• Strong knowledge of Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops, Omnissa Horizon, CVAD and Horizon infrastructure, PVS/MCS, App Layering/App Volumes, and endpoint clients.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server and Desktop operating systems, Active Directory, and Group Policy Management.
• Strong scripting skills using PowerShell and/or Visual Basic.
• Knowledge of VMware ESX, hypervisor infrastructure, network protocols, certificates, and appropriate security measures.
• Availability for on-call work in a 24/7 rotation and willingness to work off shifts, nights, and weekends.
