Electrical Engineer (Construction Discipline Engineer – Electrical Field Engineer)

Location: Onsite at Savannah River Site, Aiken, South Carolina, USA. The role follows a 40-hour workweek, generally Monday–Thursday, 6:30 a.m.–5:00 p.m.; alternate schedules may apply. U.S. citizenship is required.

Compensation: USD 112,000–120,000 per year.

What you will do

• Provide electrical construction field engineering and technical oversight for procurement, fabrication, installation, modification, and maintenance activities.
• Review designs and vendor documents for constructability, verify field conditions, and resolve design issues with design engineers.
• Inspect materials, equipment, workmanship, and installations for compliance with drawings, specifications, codes, and quality requirements.
• Develop and coordinate work execution plans, installation sequences, work instructions, inspection records, permits, and job-specific hazard analyses.
• Coordinate material take-offs, bills of materials, procurement expediting, deliveries, testing, and shop fabrication support.
• Lead field briefings and walkdowns, support inspections and functional checkout, coordinate turnover, and close work packages and permits.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering with at least 5 years of practical construction electrical field engineering experience; equivalent pathways include an associate degree with 5–10 years of experience or a high school diploma with 10+ years.
• Working knowledge of construction electrical engineering principles, discipline-specific codes and standards, and the National Electrical Code.
• Ability to work with power distribution, controls, instrumentation, and electrical schematics for systems such as motors, pumps, and distribution centers.
• Experience developing work execution plans, job hazard analyses, material take-offs, and procurement support; Asset Suite or an equivalent work-control system is preferred.
• Ability to climb, spend extended periods in the field, and qualify to work in radiological areas.
• Valid driver’s license and properly registered and insured personal vehicle required.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of Savannah River Site electrical guides and standards.
• Experience with radiological work planning and hazard analysis.
• Security clearance for sensitive federal projects.
