Senior Electrical Engineer

Location: Baltimore, Maryland or Washington, DC, USA; hybrid. Travel: 10–20%.

Salary: $150,000–$170,000 per year, plus performance-based bonuses.

What you will do

• Lead power distribution, emergency power, UPS, generator, redundancy, and electrical resiliency design for new construction, additions, and renovations.
• Develop construction drawings, specifications, reports, studies, calculations, and equipment selections.
• Perform load calculations, short-circuit and coordination studies, existing-system surveys, and facility master planning.
• Coordinate electrical distribution and communications compartmentalization for security requirements, including ICD 705 environments.
• Collaborate with clients, code officials, contractors, and multidisciplinary project teams throughout the design lifecycle.
• Provide construction-phase services, RFI responses, field validation, construction administration, QA/QC, team leadership, and junior engineer guidance.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license.
• At least 10 years of electrical design experience.
• Knowledge of power distribution, emergency power, electrical resiliency, NEC, NFPA 70/110, hazardous occupancy classifications, and security-related electrical compartmentalization.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and Microsoft Office.
• Ability to obtain and maintain any security clearance required by assigned programs.
• Ability to lead teams, communicate effectively, organize work, and travel.

Nice to have

• At least 2 years of project management experience.
• Experience designing secure or federal government facilities.
