AWS Data Architect (AWS)

Location: Canada (Ontario or Quebec), the EU, or Ukraine; EU-based candidates must have a visa and be able to travel to Canada

What you will do

• Design AWS data platforms, data lakes, data warehouses, lakehouse solutions, and ETL/ELT pipelines.
• Define data architectures, data models, integration patterns, and governance standards.
• Use AWS services including S3, Glue, Redshift, Athena, Lambda, EMR, Kinesis, and Lake Formation.
• Lead data migration and modernization projects.
• Ensure data security, quality, performance, and cost optimization.
• Provide technical guidance and collaborate with engineers, developers, architects, and business stakeholders.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in data architecture, data engineering, or related roles.
• 3+ years of hands-on experience designing and implementing AWS data solutions.
• Strong knowledge of AWS data and analytics services, data lakes, data warehouses, lakehouses, ETL/ELT, and distributed data processing.
• Proficiency in SQL and experience with Python, Java, or Scala.
• Experience with data modeling, dimensional modeling, database architecture, and technologies such as Spark, Kafka, Airflow, or dbt.
• Knowledge of cloud security, IAM, encryption, networking, data governance, CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code, and DevOps practices.
