AVP, Lead Software Engineer – .NET & AWS

Location: Hybrid role requiring onsite presence 2–3 days per week at the Charlotte/Fort Mill or NYC/Midtown office

Base salary: $140,500–$234,100 per year

What you will do

• Design, develop, enhance, and optimize high-volume, low-latency applications and mission-critical systems on AWS.
• Remain approximately 80% hands-on with engineering and coding while providing technical leadership.
• Build and improve enterprise applications using C#/.NET, AngularJS, jQuery, MS SQL Server, REST APIs, microservices, and relational databases.
• Collaborate with product, architecture, data, infrastructure, and business leaders to translate business challenges into technical solutions.
• Assess technical risks, document recommendations, and guide solution design, code reviews, architecture, and SDLC documentation.
• Define governance, guardrails, and best practices for AI-assisted development and design-to-development workflows.

Requirements

• At least 10 years of hands-on software engineering experience, with strong C#/.NET expertise preferred; experienced Java engineers may also be considered.
• At least 5 years of hands-on AWS and cloud-native application development experience.
• Experience with REST APIs, microservices, relational databases, distributed systems, API-first design, performance optimization, and production system enhancements.
• Experience with AWS Lambda and Step Functions.
• Ability to combine hands-on coding with solution design, code reviews, architectural guidance, mentoring, and technical leadership.
• Experience with AI-assisted development tools, LLM-supported code generation and review, Figma or similar design tools, and responsible AI practices involving data privacy and security.

Nice to have

• Experience in wealth management, fintech, or financial services.
• Experience with API management tools such as SwaggerHub and cloud transformation initiatives.
• Understanding of DevSecOps, automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, and source control.
• Technical mentorship and engineering leadership experience.
• Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
