Principal Software Engineer (FinTech)

Location: Remote, United States

Salary: $137,500–$182,000 per year, plus performance-based incentives and restricted stock units.

What you will do

• Own architecture and technical direction for finance initiatives, including Unified Billing and financial integrations.
• Lead engineering efforts across multiple scrum teams and align design, standards, and execution.
• Design resilient systems for high-volume financial transactions with strong consistency, auditability, reliability, and scalability.
• Modernize, migrate, integrate, and optimize NetSuite and related financial platforms.
• Partner with product and business stakeholders to translate complex financial requirements into technical solutions.
• Mentor engineers and tech leads while driving engineering standards, observability, security, performance, and AI-enabled productivity.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field; an advanced degree is preferred.
• 12–15+ years of software development experience, including 5+ years in a senior technical leadership or lead role.
• Expertise in .NET, .NET Core, C#, SQL, Python, Microsoft Azure, Azure DevOps, CI/CD, and Git.
• Experience with distributed systems, messaging frameworks, relational databases, APIs, OpenAPI/Swagger, WCF, and secure software development.
• Experience in FinTech or financial systems and with large-scale enterprise modernization initiatives.
• Strong leadership, communication, analytical, debugging, mentoring, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
