Sr Software Engineer (SQL)

Location: Boston, Massachusetts; employees work in the office at least four days per week and may work from home one day per week.

Base salary: $131,700–$181,000 per year, with potential variable compensation depending on the role.

What you will do

• Lead the design, development, documentation, testing, and modification of complex software applications through the software development life cycle.
• Translate business, user, performance, reliability, and control requirements into detailed engineering specifications and low-level designs.
• Lead development teams, code reviews, architecture discussions, design walkthroughs, and buy-versus-build evaluations.
• Coordinate with business partners, project teams, QA, contractors, and vendor resources to deliver and release software.
• Investigate production incidents, perform root-cause analysis, and implement corrective actions to improve system reliability and performance.
• Conduct asset health and security assessments and provide technical guidance on tools, standards, governance, and investment priorities.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 7–10 years of relevant experience, including at least 7 years coding or designing with multiple programming languages.
• At least 7 years of experience designing and building complex software applications across multiple environments.
• Experience working with onshore and offshore vendor partner resources.
• Extensive experience with Oracle, SQL Server, T-SQL, stored procedures, functions, views, indexes, CTEs, temporary tables, and complex queries.
• Valid U.S. work authorization is required without current or future visa sponsorship needs.

• Experience designing enterprise-level software applications.
• Expertise across multiple evolving technology programs and programming languages.
• Experience with dynamic SQL, linked servers, maintenance plans, scheduled jobs, tables, sequences, and SQL scripts.
