TL;DR
Fire Brigade Supervisor - Nights (EV & Energy Storage): Leading industrial firefighters and directing fire suppression, rescue, EMS, and HAZMAT operations at a lithium-ion battery manufacturing facility with an accent on incident command, operational readiness, and regulatory compliance. Focus on managing emergency responses, developing shift training, investigating incidents, and sustaining corrective actions in a high-hazard industrial environment.

Location: Onsite in De Soto, Kansas, United States. Night shifts run 6:30 PM–6:30 AM on either B-Shift (Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, and every other Wednesday) or D-Shift (Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and every other Wednesday). Applicants must have unrestricted authorization to work in the U.S.

What you will do

  • Lead and supervise Industrial Firefighters while maintaining operational readiness for the assigned shift.
  • Serve as the on-duty Fire Brigade Officer and assume Incident Command during emergencies.
  • Direct fire suppression, rescue, EMS, and HAZMAT response operations using ICS principles.
  • Own shift training, competency development, equipment readiness, inspections, audits, and compliance.
  • Lead incident investigations, corrective actions, risk assessments, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Coordinate emergency preparedness activities with site leadership, Emergency Management, Safety, Health, and external agencies.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree in Fire Science, Emergency Management, or a related field; relevant experience may substitute.
  • Firefighter I and II, Fire Officer I, and FEMA IS-100, IS-200, IS-700, and IS-800 certifications.
  • At least 3 years of progressive leadership experience in emergency response or related operations; 5+ years is preferred.
  • Experience with emergency response operations, ICS, NIMS, fire behavior, suppression tactics, risk management, and emergency operations.
  • Ability to wear structural firefighting PPE, SCBA, respirators, and protective suits and perform physically demanding rescue work.
  • Working-level English is required, along with unrestricted U.S. work authorization.

Nice to have

  • Bachelor’s degree in Fire Science, Emergency Management, or a related field.
  • EMT, HazMat Technician, Confined Space Rescue, or Fire Instructor I certification.
  • Industrial firefighting experience in manufacturing, chemical, or other high-hazard environments.
  • Knowledge of OSHA 1910 standards and experience with drills and multi-agency coordination.
