TL;DR
Fire Brigade Supervisor - Days (Industrial Emergency Response): Leading industrial firefighters and directing fire suppression, rescue, EMS, and HAZMAT response at a lithium-ion battery manufacturing facility with an accent on incident command, operational readiness, and regulatory compliance. Focus on coordinating emergency operations, developing shift personnel, investigating incidents, and sustaining corrective actions in a high-hazard environment.

Location: Onsite in De Soto, Kansas, United States. Day shift: 6:30 AM–6:30 PM, C-Shift, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and every other Wednesday. Occasional local or business travel may be required.

hirify.global produces lithium-ion batteries for electric vehicles and is expanding a large-scale battery manufacturing facility in De Soto, Kansas.

What you will do

  • Lead and supervise Industrial Firefighters while maintaining operational readiness for all-hazards emergency response.
  • Serve as the on-duty Fire Brigade Officer and assume Incident Command during emergencies.
  • Direct fire suppression, rescue, EMS, and HAZMAT operations, including tactical strategy and resource deployment.
  • Lead shift briefings, training plans, competency assessments, performance reviews, and personnel development.
  • Conduct incident investigations, risk assessments, inspections, audits, and corrective action planning.
  • Coordinate emergency preparedness with site leadership, Emergency Management, Safety, Health, Business Continuity, and external agencies.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree in Fire Science, Emergency Management, or a related field; relevant experience may substitute.
  • Firefighter I and II Certification, plus Fire Officer I Certification or at least five years of experience as a Fire Officer.
  • FEMA IS-100, IS-200, IS-700, and IS-800 certifications.
  • At least three years of progressive leadership experience in emergency response or related operations.
  • Experience with emergency response operations, ICS, NIMS, fire suppression, rescue, medical incidents, or hazardous materials response.
  • Must have valid authorization to work in the United States without restriction. Working-level English proficiency is required.

Nice to have

  • Bachelor’s degree in Fire Science, Emergency Management, or a related field.
  • EMT, HazMat Technician, Confined Space Rescue, or Fire Instructor I certification.
  • Industrial firefighting experience in manufacturing, chemical, or other high-hazard environments.
  • Knowledge of OSHA 1910 standards and experience with emergency preparedness drills and multi-agency coordination.
