TL;DR
Fire Brigade Supervisor - Nights (Industrial Firefighting): Leading industrial firefighters and directing all-hazards emergency response at a lithium-ion battery manufacturing facility with an accent on incident command, operational readiness, and regulatory compliance. Focus on coordinating fire suppression, rescue, EMS, and HAZMAT operations, investigating incidents, developing shift personnel, and maintaining readiness in high-pressure industrial environments.

Location: Onsite in De Soto, Kansas, United States. Night shift: 6:30 PM–6:30 AM on either B-Shift (Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, and every other Wednesday) or D-Shift (Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and every other Wednesday). Candidates must have valid authorization to work in the U.S. without restriction.

What you will do

  • Lead and supervise Industrial Firefighters while maintaining operational readiness for all-hazards emergency response.
  • Serve as the on-duty Fire Brigade Officer and assume Incident Command during fires, medical emergencies, rescues, and HAZMAT incidents.
  • Set incident objectives, tactical strategies, and resource deployment in accordance with ICS principles.
  • Lead shift briefings, training, readiness reviews, inspections, audits, and equipment preparation.
  • Investigate incidents, develop corrective actions, and drive continuous improvement of emergency response capabilities.
  • Coordinate with site leadership, Emergency Management, Business Continuity, Safety, healthcare teams, and external agencies.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree in Fire Science, Emergency Management, or a related field; relevant experience may substitute.
  • Firefighter I and II Certification, Fire Officer I Certification or at least five years of experience as a Fire Officer, and FEMA IS-100, IS-200, IS-700, and IS-800 certifications.
  • At least three years of progressive leadership experience in emergency response or related operations.
  • Experience with emergency response operations, ICS, NIMS, fire behavior, suppression tactics, risk management, or emergency operations.
  • Ability to perform physically demanding industrial firefighting duties while wearing structural firefighting PPE, SCBA, respirators, and protective suits.
  • Working-level English proficiency and unrestricted U.S. work authorization are required.

Nice to have

  • Bachelor’s degree in Fire Science, Emergency Management, or a related field.
  • EMT, HazMat Technician, Confined Space Rescue, or Fire Instructor I certification.
  • Industrial firefighting experience in manufacturing, chemical, or other high-hazard environments.
  • Knowledge of OSHA 1910 standards and experience with emergency preparedness drills and multi-agency coordination.
