Automation Framework Engineer (SDET)

Location: 100% remote within the United States

Salary: $120,000–$170,000 annually

What you will do

• Design, build, and continuously improve automation frameworks.
• Write production-quality test code covering unit, integration, UI, API, end-to-end, performance, and security testing.
• Partner with product, design, engineering, operations, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into engineered solutions.
• Embed quality engineering practices throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Participate in code and design reviews and mentor more junior engineers.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• At least 5 years of experience as an SDET or in test-focused software engineering roles; the position lists 6+ years of experience.
• Strong programming skills in at least one of Java, Python, JavaScript, or C#.
• Hands-on experience with Selenium, Cypress, or Playwright, plus REST and/or gRPC API automation.
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, SQL, database validation, microservices, distributed systems, and modern web architectures.
• Excellent debugging, communication, documentation, and Agile/Scrum skills. Applicants must be U.S. citizens, Green Card holders, EAD holders, or H-1B transfer candidates; new H-1B visa petitions cannot be sponsored.

Nice to have

• Contract testing with Pact or Spring Cloud Contract.
• Performance testing with JMeter, Gatling, k6, or Locust.
• Security testing with OWASP ZAP, Burp Suite, or Snyk.
• Chaos engineering, resilience testing, and ISTQB or equivalent QA certification.
