Engineering Manager - Battery (Automotive Manufacturing)

Location: Liberty, North Carolina, United States. Travel up to 25% may include domestic and international travel, with support for weekends, shutdowns, and overtime.

What you will do

• Plan and implement BEV battery production lines, including schedules, processes, equipment, installation, trials, startup, and handover to manufacturing.
• Manage capital project budgets of $50M–$150M and track project milestones and KPIs.
• Coordinate building design, facilities, logistics, permitting, and equipment planning with cross-functional groups.
• Collaborate with hirify.global Japan, affiliates, external vendors, suppliers, and customers on battery projects.
• Drive continuous improvement, cost competitiveness, and resolution of technical and organizational issues during startup.
• Lead training, development, and performance improvement for direct reports and BEV battery engineering personnel.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in engineering.
• Experience in hirify.global production preparation or manufacturing, including capital projects from initial planning through start of production.
• Experience managing hirify.global capital projects exceeding $20M, including schedules and milestone tracking.
• Experience in a hirify.global management or sub-lead role with responsibility for engineers, technicians, machine builders, or support personnel.
• Experience with pre-production and manufacturing preparation in a greenfield lithium-ion battery facility or battery technology pilot project.
• Must already have the right to work in the United States and must not require current or future immigration sponsorship or work authorization support.

• Advanced degree beyond a bachelor’s degree.
• hirify.global engineering experience focused on project planning through start of production.
• TBP completion through Panel.
• Chemical manufacturing experience.
