SCADA Engineer

Location: Onsite in De Soto, Kansas, United States. Candidates must have valid authorization to work in the U.S. without restriction.

What you will do

• Design, develop, implement, commission, and maintain SCADA solutions using Ignition.
• Build SCADA and HMI frameworks, screens, supervisory controls, automation functions, and custom scripts.
• Integrate PLCs, IIoT devices, industrial networks, systems, platforms, and applications for reliable data transfer.
• Manage databases, tags, alarm pipelines, UDTs, transaction groups, historized data, and SCADA infrastructure configurations.
• Test, debug, validate, and troubleshoot SCADA networks and deployments to improve uptime, security, data accuracy, and performance.
• Collaborate with implementation partners, project managers, business stakeholders, overseas teams, and contracted developers.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
• 4+ years of experience designing, programming, and commissioning SCADA systems in Ignition.
• Proficiency in Python scripting and strong knowledge of SCADA networking, ladder logic, PLC systems, electrical hardware, drawings, sequence control, and software design.
• Knowledge of Modbus, EtherCAT, Ethernet/IP, Profinet, MQTT, OPC UA, SQL, CLI, and CI/CD.
• Experience programming, installing, and troubleshooting PLC systems, preferably Mitsubishi or Omron.
• Working-level English is required, and unrestricted U.S. work authorization is mandatory.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree or certifications such as ISA CAP, Inductive Automation Developer, CCNA, PMP, or PMI-ACP.
• Experience with Agile project management, DevOps, high-volume manufacturing, and complex SCADA deployment projects.
• Completed Inductive University training.
