Focus on designing and testing manufacturing systems, analyzing performance data, and solving equipment issues across a Gigafactory environment.

What you will do

  • Program, install, and troubleshoot Keyence and Cognex vision systems used in battery manufacturing.
  • Program, install, and troubleshoot Mitsubishi and Omron PLC systems.
  • Analyze equipment specifications and performance requirements to determine manufacturable designs.
  • Evaluate the feasibility of new plant equipment and modifications to existing facilities, considering cost, space, timing, and technical factors.
  • Prepare or direct the preparation of system layouts, detailed drawings, and schematics.
  • Plan experimental tests, analyze results, and coordinate prototype manufacturing or system development.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or a similar discipline.
  • 1–3 years of engineering experience.
  • Experience with manufacturing vision systems, including Keyence or Cognex.
  • Experience with PLC programming and troubleshooting, including Mitsubishi or Omron systems.
  • Background in a high-volume manufacturing environment and understanding of electrical hardware, drawings, sequence control, and software design.
  • Valid authorization to work in the United States without restriction is required.

Nice to have

  • Master’s degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or a similar discipline.
  • Knowledge of wiring, cabling, load and temperature requirements, control wiring design, and 480 V panel installations.
  • Familiarity with industrial machinery design, NFPA 70, NFPA 79, UL standards, and Class I, Division 2 hazardous-location requirements.
  • Experience with energy usage optimization and American environmental laws.
