Location: Onsite in De Soto, Kansas, United States

Panasonic Energy produces lithium-ion batteries for electric vehicles and is expanding a large-scale battery manufacturing facility in Kansas.

What you will do

  • Support the operation, maintenance, and performance of HVAC, plumbing, exhaust, process water, compressed air, and related mechanical facility systems.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot equipment including chillers, cooling towers, pumps, boilers, air handlers, dehumidification units, dust collectors, VAV units, PLC controls, and SCADA interfaces.
  • Conduct system assessments, operational rounds, testing, and technical data analysis.
  • Identify improvements to maintenance practices, reliability, and operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate with Operations & Maintenance, Production, and Engineering teams to resolve utility performance issues and update procedures and documentation.
  • Support safety compliance, audits, inspections, maintenance records, and emergency response activities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or a related engineering field.
  • Foundational knowledge of engineering principles and experience collecting and analyzing technical information.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong organizational, verbal communication, prioritization, and collaboration skills.
  • Working-level English proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking is required.
  • Valid authorization to work in the United States without restriction is required.

Nice to have

  • Two or more years of engineering experience through internships, co-ops, or entry-level manufacturing roles.
  • Experience as an engineering intern at a design firm or manufacturing facility.
  • Familiarity with commercial facility mechanical equipment and systems.
