SCADA Engineer II, EPC

Location: Remote within the United States, with hybrid options requiring regular office presence in San Diego, California, or Bend, Oregon.

Salary: $96,000–$120,000 per year.

Infrastructure services provider for the power industry, designing, building, and maintaining utility-scale solar, battery storage, and high-voltage substation projects.

What you will do

• Design and develop SCADA integration components and systems for utility-scale solar PV and battery energy storage projects.
• Program and commission SCADA servers, data historians, HMI systems, and related plant monitoring and control systems.
• Create device point lists, HMI assets, commissioning test plans, completion checklists, and project documentation.
• Provide technical support and troubleshoot diverse SCADA equipment configurations and complex control systems.
• Coordinate with customers, subcontractors, field technicians, and cross-functional teams during commissioning, installation, platform development, and data integration.
• Support project delivery, risk mitigation, closeout documentation, operations handoffs, and NERC-compliant programming and commissioning practices.

Requirements

• 2–4 years of SCADA engineering experience; renewable energy, industrial, utility-scale solar, battery storage, or wind experience is desired.
• Proficiency in Python and intermediate experience with Inductive Automation Ignition, relational databases, and SCADA applications.
• Experience with PLC platforms such as Schweitzer Engineering RTAC, Allen Bradley ControlLogix or CompactLogix, GE, or Emerson RX3i.
• Experience installing and commissioning SCADA networks using fiber optics, serial RS-232/RS-485, and Ethernet TCP/IP.
• Strong knowledge of Modbus RTU/TCP, DNP3, OPC UA, and OPC DA, plus the ability to read and develop power system, networking, control, electrical, mechanical, and civil diagrams.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without requiring employer sponsorship now or in the future.
