Maintenance Technician - Level 4 (EV & Energy Storage)

Location: Onsite in De Soto, Kansas, United States. All shifts and rotating shifts are required, with overtime as needed. The role requires valid authorization to work in the U.S. without restriction.

Panasonic Energy Corporation of North America is expanding a lithium-ion battery manufacturing facility supporting sustainable energy and electric vehicle technology.

What you will do

• Perform preventive maintenance, repairs, disassembly, cleaning, and reassembly on motors, pneumatic tools, conveyors, production machines, and mechanical systems.
• Troubleshoot mechanical and basic electrical equipment issues using diagnostic tools, technical drawings, schematics, and precision instruments.
• Monitor equipment settings, sensors, HMIs, gauges, and system performance to maintain operating specifications.
• Analyze equipment performance, support root cause analysis, implement corrective actions, and reduce downtime through continuous improvement.
• Document maintenance actions and equipment issues in CMMS and support Standard Work and Total Productive Maintenance activities.
• Guide and train Level 3 and peer Level 4 technicians while collaborating with Operations, Engineering, vendors, and contractors.

Requirements

• High school diploma, GED, or two years of prior experience in the functional area.
• At least 3 years of relevant maintenance or technical work experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
• Working knowledge of mechanical and basic electrical systems, including electrical theory fundamentals.
• Ability to troubleshoot and repair equipment with minimal supervision and interpret mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, and hydraulic or pneumatic diagrams.
• Ability to pass the Ramsay mechanical or electrical aptitude assessment and perform standard mathematical calculations.
• Working-level English proficiency is required for reading, writing, and speaking.

Nice to have

• Six or more years of relevant maintenance or technical experience.
• Associate degree or higher in Industrial Maintenance, Mechatronics, Electrical Technology, or a related technical discipline.
• PLC training and experience, TPM experience, Lean Manufacturing Certification or Yellow Belt, Journeyman Certification, or PECNA-approved technical training.
