Production Manager - Inventory Control (Assembly)

What you will do

• Lead inventory control for incoming and outgoing materials, maintaining availability, accuracy, and compliant transactions.
• Monitor raw materials, work in progress, and finished-goods inventory, including stock levels, locations, and WIP health.
• Use dashboards and upper/lower inventory limits to prevent stockouts, excess inventory, and unhealthy WIP.
• Investigate discrepancies, drive corrective actions, and maintain audit-ready inventory records.
• Coordinate with Receiving, Shipping, Production, Quality, Finance, and Supply Chain to maintain FIFO discipline and smooth material flow.
• Lead inventory control analysts or specialists and govern weekly cycle counts and discrepancy investigations.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations Management, Business Administration, or a related technical field; relevant experience may substitute.
• At least 5 years of manufacturing leadership experience.
• Experience managing multi-shift execution and driving plan attainment.
• Knowledge of inventory transactions and documentation in ERP, MES, or WMS systems.
• Ability to follow safety and quality requirements for inventory handling, storage, holds, segregation, disposition, and PPE use.
• Valid authorization to work in the United States without restriction is required.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree or MBA in a related discipline.
• Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or higher certification.
• OSHA 30-Hour General Industry certification.
• Experience in regulated or traceable environments and physical inventory governance.
