Sr. Indirect Sourcing Analyst (Battery Manufacturing)

Location: De Soto, Kansas, United States; onsite. Travel of up to 10% domestically and internationally may be required. Valid authorization to work in the U.S. without restriction is required.

Panasonic Energy Corporation of North America produces lithium-ion batteries for electric vehicles and sustainable energy solutions and is expanding a large-scale battery manufacturing facility in Kansas.

What you will do

• Develop and execute sourcing strategies for construction, design services, capital equipment, tooling, and operating expense categories.
• Lead end-to-end procurement activities, including scope development, RFI/RFQ/RFP processes, supplier evaluation, negotiations, and selection.
• Negotiate and administer supplier, consultant, and contractor agreements, including SOWs, MSAs, and MPAs.
• Analyze spend, total cost of ownership, market intelligence, supplier KPIs, and business cases to support strategic decisions.
• Manage strategic supplier relationships and lead performance, risk mitigation, governance, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Collaborate with Design, Construction, Supply Chain, Legal, Risk Management, Finance, and global procurement stakeholders while mentoring junior team members.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, STEM, or a related field; relevant experience may substitute for education.
• At least 7 years of experience in strategic sourcing, category management, procurement, or supply chain; 10+ years is preferred.
• Experience with supplier relationship management, contract negotiation, sourcing strategy, RFx processes, category management, and cost and risk optimization.
• Advanced analytical skills, including spend analysis, total cost of ownership modeling, market intelligence, and business case development.
• Advanced proficiency with ERP systems, procurement technologies, Microsoft Excel, Power BI, and reporting tools.
• Working-level English proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking and unrestricted U.S. work authorization are required.

Nice to have

• Master's degree, CPSM, CSCP, PMP, Lean Six Sigma, or SAP Procurement certification.
• Experience with large-scale manufacturing facilities, industrial construction, capital expansions, greenfield developments, or high-value indirect spend.
• Knowledge of construction contracts, project delivery methods, procurement transformation, supplier optimization, or continuous improvement.
• Experience with global teams, Japanese business culture, battery manufacturing, automotive, electronics, semiconductor, or energy storage.
• Bilingual English-Japanese proficiency.
