Procurement Strategy Manager (Battery Materials)

What you will do

• Assess supplier capabilities and develop sourcing strategies for battery raw materials used in lithium-ion cell production.
• Collaborate with Procurement, Supplier Quality, and Material Development teams to qualify new suppliers.
• Support battery-material industrialization, localization, and supplier-readiness initiatives.
• Lead contract negotiations and manage complex supplier agreements.
• Serve as the procurement liaison between US and Japan teams and build strategic supplier relationships.
• Evaluate supply risks, monitor supplier performance through KPIs and scorecards, and analyze market trends to guide sourcing decisions.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Procurement, Supply Chain, Engineering, or a related field.
• At least 10 years of experience in procurement strategy, global sourcing, battery materials engineering, chemical engineering, mining, metal refining, metallurgy, electrochemical engineering, or a related area.
• Strong knowledge and experience with battery raw materials, supplier development, and strategic procurement.
• Strong written, verbal, presentation, communication, interpersonal, planning, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work across different time zones and travel for business to potential suppliers.
• Must have valid authorization to work in the United States without restriction.

• Master’s degree.
