Design Engineer (Geotechnical)

What you will do

• Design structural and geotechnical solutions for CFA and hand piling, ground retention, shoring, basement excavation, and demolition scopes.
• Adapt designs to changing soil conditions, adverse weather, and structural constraints encountered on site.
• Review geotechnical reports, site surveys, and structural blueprints to develop safe and cost-effective foundation solutions.
• Coordinate with pre-construction and operations teams through design, estimating, bid submission, and project execution.
• Prepare take-offs, cost estimates, and client-ready proposals for piling, shoring, excavation, and demolition works.
• Provide technical support to field crews and help resolve construction deviations.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a closely related field.
• At least 3 years of engineering experience in Australia across foundation design, piling, ground retention, shoring, excavation, and demolition.
• Experience with Australian construction standards, including NCC, AS/NZS codes, and local council requirements.
• Strong knowledge of soil mechanics, groundworks, and early-works phases.
• Proficiency in structural and geotechnical design tools such as AutoCAD, WALLAP, PLAXIS, or equivalent software.
• Experience interpreting geotechnical reports and preparing take-offs, cost estimates, and client-facing quotes.
