Customer-Embedded Engineer (AI)

Location: Berlin, Germany — hybrid. Regular travel to customer sites across Europe and Asia is integral to the role.

What you will do

• Partner with logistics teams to understand operational workflows and translate customer needs into system designs.
• Build AI-powered tools across the full stack using TypeScript and Node.js.
• Integrate with enterprise ecosystems including ERP, TMS, SFTP, and event queues.
• Build reliable data pipelines for messy, real-world data and maintain backend infrastructure at scale.
• Shape product direction and technical decisions alongside the founding team.
• Own outcomes end-to-end, from design through deployment, while regularly visiting customer sites.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience building full-stack applications or backend systems in production.
• Strong proficiency in TypeScript and Node.js for backend development.
• Experience designing and integrating enterprise systems, APIs, and data pipelines.
• Hands-on experience with cloud infrastructure tools such as Docker, Terraform, GCP, or AWS.
• Experience shipping production software quickly and iterating based on user feedback.
• Willingness and ability to travel regularly to customer sites.

Nice to have

• Experience with React or another modern frontend framework.
• Familiarity with GenAI and LLM architectures, including RAG, evaluations, and orchestration.
• Background in logistics, supply chain, or operations.
• Early-stage startup experience.
