Java Developer (AWS Migration)

Location: Hybrid, with onsite work in Reston, Virginia once per week; final interview is onsite in Reston, Virginia.

hirify.global is hiring for a client project involving legacy web application development and AWS migration.

What you will do

• Analyze, design, develop, test, and debug a complex legacy web application.
• Support the migration of applications to AWS using services such as EKS, EC2, and AWS API Gateway.
• Define system scope and objectives with relevant stakeholders and establish project baselines.
• Establish project standards and processes and break down complex software requirements.
• Develop unit and integration test cases using JUnit or TestNG.
• Work with existing code developed by other developers in an Agile or Scrum environment.

Requirements

• 12+ years of experience with Java, Spring, Spring Batch, and microservices.
• At least 3 years of hands-on AWS cloud migration experience, including moving applications to the cloud.
• Hands-on experience with Spring Boot, Java development, databases, and unit and integration testing.
• IBM MQ experience is required; experience with Cloud Q is advantageous.
• Experience with database technologies such as SQL, Oracle, MongoDB, or PostgreSQL.
• Bachelor’s degree or an additional 4 years of relevant experience in lieu of the degree; excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
