Back-end Java Developer

Location: Remote in the United States or Canada; requires 6+ hours of overlap with PST

A global media and technology company operating a large-scale email platform that delivers more than 4.5 billion emails daily.

What you will do

• Develop and maintain Java applications on cloud-based platforms.
• Migrate core mail services and Java applications to the cloud.
• Optimize and modernize applications, infrastructure, platforms, and supporting tools.
• Integrate applications with existing DevOps and CI/CD pipelines and environments.
• Design and implement scalable, secure, and reliable solutions for business requirements.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and mentor engineers through design and development.

Requirements

• 6+ years of backend software development experience.
• Strong Java and object-oriented programming skills.
• Strong knowledge of RESTful APIs and microservices architecture.
• Experience with AWS or GCP and with distributed or large-scale systems.
• Understanding of data structures, algorithms, design patterns, SQL, and RDS databases.
• Strong computer science, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with DevOps tools and practices.
• Leadership experience.

• Part-time engagement may be considered for candidates able to ramp up to full-time within 3–4 weeks.
