TL;DR
Backend Java Developer (Java): Migrating and modernizing core mail services and Java applications for cloud-based platforms with an accent on cloud-agnostic architecture, scalability, and reliability. Focus on re-architecting infrastructure, integrating DevOps and CI/CD environments, and building distributed systems on AWS or GCP.
Location: Remote in the United States or Canada; requires 6+ hours of overlap with PST.

's client is a global media and technology company operating a large-scale mail platform and products across finance, sports, shopping, gaming, and news.
What you will do
- Develop and maintain Java applications on cloud-based platforms.
- Migrate core mail services and Java applications to the cloud.
- Optimize and modernize applications, platforms, and infrastructure.
- Integrate services with existing DevOps and CI/CD pipelines and environments.
- Design scalable, secure, and reliable solutions for business requirements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and mentor engineers through design and development.
Requirements
- 6+ years of backend development experience.
- Strong Java development and object-oriented programming skills.
- Strong knowledge of RESTful APIs and microservices architecture.
- Experience with AWS or GCP, distributed systems, and large-scale systems.
- Knowledge of data structures, algorithms, computer science fundamentals, and design patterns.
- Experience with SQL and RDS databases, plus strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Nice to have
- Experience with DevOps tools and practices.
- Leadership experience.
