Financial Analyst (Healthcare Payor)

Location: Hybrid in the Baltimore, Maryland area, with 3+ onsite visits per month

What you will do

• Collect, analyze, and interpret financial data; prepare reports, models, presentations, and recommendations.
• Prepare accounting and financial reports, verify results, and challenge accounting processes for assigned business units.
• Investigate account reconciliation issues and improve controls over general ledger, subsidiary ledgers, and balance sheet activity.
• Analyze trends, calculate and verify data, and develop reporting specifications and procedures with other business areas.
• Prepare journal entries and monthly account reconciliations while responding to auditor, management, and finance inquiries.
• Research accounting issues and prepare financial data for managers, directors, executives, and upper-management presentations.

Requirements

• BS degree in Finance or a similar field with 3+ years of financial analysis experience, or 7 years of experience without a degree.
• Healthcare payor industry experience is required; federal healthcare experience is acceptable. BCBS experience is highly desired.
• Expertise in budget analysis, corporate allocations, variance and discrepancy resolution, and financial data extraction.
• Required: MS Excel, Oracle Essbase, and Ariba.
• Good understanding of GAAP, STAT, and federal regulations.
