Engineering Manager (Lithium-Ion Battery Manufacturing)

What you will do

• Manage and evaluate the Manufacturing Engineering team, including hiring, training, work assignment, performance management, and problem resolution.
• Research and develop improved lithium-ion battery manufacturing processes.
• Design production layouts and oversee equipment construction, control, and improvement for commercial-scale battery manufacturing.
• Analyze equipment functions and operating procedures to reduce processing time and cost.
• Design measurement and control systems using laboratory and pilot-plant data.
• Establish operator procedures, conduct production tests, and apply chemical engineering principles to process and environmental challenges.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical, chemical, or materials engineering, or a related discipline.
• 8+ years of engineering experience and 5+ years of leadership experience.
• Strong analytical, decision-making, communication, interpersonal, and team-influence skills.
• Working-level English proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking.
• Must have valid authorization to work in the United States without restriction; visa sponsorship is not available.
• Ability to work onsite and meet the role’s physical requirements, including frequent lifting of up to 35 pounds and team lifting for heavier items.

Nice to have

• Master’s or Ph.D. in a relevant engineering discipline.
• Experience with electrochemistry, battery production or R&D, and high-volume manufacturing.
• Experience with industrial data analysis or Manufacturing Execution Systems.
• Familiarity with Six Sigma and tools such as JMP, Minitab, Python, or MATLAB.
