Repair Technician II (Electronics)

What you will do

• Set up, calibrate, test, troubleshoot, and repair circuits, components, instruments, and mechanical assemblies.
• Perform digital test setups, recognize failures and setup problems, and determine required verification.
• Secure, remove, position, and align parts using soldering, crimping, fastening, gluing, and other appropriate methods.
• Install assemblies in cases or cabinets and document repair information and publication discrepancies.
• Prepare repair cost quotation worksheets for transmission to customers.
• Use engineering documentation and maintenance manuals to assess configuration status and perform repair actions.

Requirements

• Three to five years of bench experience in an electronic systems repair environment.
• High school diploma or equivalent, plus a recognized technical qualification, technician certificate, or equivalent military technical education; an associate degree in Electronics or Electronics Technology is preferred in the United States.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex analog and digital electronics systems to the component level.
• Experience with programmable autotesters, oscilloscopes, pulse generators, meters, power supplies, signal generators, distortion analyzers, and specialized test fixtures.
• Required knowledge of surface-mount soldering with acrylic conformal coating, electronic circuit design, fault isolation, power tools, and common hand tools.
• Must communicate effectively in written and spoken English and have valid authorization to work in the United States.
