Firmware Intern (Embedded Systems)

What you will do

• Develop and maintain low-level drivers and libraries for chips, modules, and sensors.
• Own and improve the custom open-source RTOS hardware abstraction layer, Amslah.
• Optimize custom sensor hardware and calibration infrastructure for low-power operation and extreme cold.
• Collaborate with hardware R&D engineers to improve meteorological measurement accuracy.
• Design fault-tolerant systems that recover gracefully from unexpected conditions.
• Investigate and debug complex hardware-software issues using experiments and limited system data.

Requirements

• Experience programming, shipping, and maintaining hardware in real-world settings.
• Fluency in C/C++ and Python.
• Experience writing low-level drivers for multiple chips.
• Comfort reading PCB schematics and some exposure to electrical engineering.
• Ability to form system-behavior hypotheses and test them through experiments.
• Strong communication, trade-off reasoning, and debugging skills in multidisciplinary environments.
