TL;DR
Associate Embedded Firmware Engineer (C/C++): Developing and testing firmware and application software for residential electrical products with an accent on microcontrollers, ARM processors, RTOS concepts, and real-time event-driven design. Location: On-site in Melville, New York, United States

Salary: $75,000–$85,000 per year

What you will do

  • Research parts and technologies and support product development across the product life cycle.
  • Design, develop, and test firmware and application software for residential electrical products.
  • Assist with component selection, hardware design, operations manuals, and technical documentation.
  • Prepare requirements, analyses, designs, code, implementations, test data, and project documentation.
  • Debug low-level issues and perform independent unit testing and system testing.
  • Collaborate with product and engineering management and support other engineers during development and testing.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, computer science, or a related engineering field.
  • 0–2 years of experience in embedded hardware and software engineering, design, and development.
  • Experience with embedded firmware in C or C++.
  • Experience designing firmware for 16/32-bit microcontrollers and ARM processors.
  • Understanding of RTOS concepts and event-driven real-time firmware design.
  • Experience with communication protocols such as CAN, BLE, UART, SPI, or I2C, plus strong debugging, documentation, communication, and organizational skills.

Nice to have

  • Internship experience and experience writing unit tests.
  • Experience with Matter, BLE, ZigBee, Z-Wave, or Wi-Fi wireless protocols.
  • Experience with Linux.
  • Experience using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, or JTAG debuggers.
