Billing Associate (Government Contracting Finance)

hirify.global is recruiting for a client operating in the defense and federal contracting space.

What you will do

• Prepare and process 150+ accurate, compliant invoices each month across Firm Fixed Price, Time & Material, and commercial contracts.
• Maintain timely billing and payment cycles in line with company policy.
• Manage billing data and organized financial records in enterprise accounting systems.
• Respond to billing inquiries and support internal and external audits with audit-ready documentation.
• Contribute to revenue, EBIT, cash-flow, and billing-cycle improvement goals.

Requirements

• U.S. citizenship is required.
• High school diploma or equivalent plus at least four years of relevant experience.
• Basic knowledge of accounting processes and practices.
• Experience preparing Firm Fixed Price, Time & Material, and commercial invoices.
• Knowledge of U.S. GAAP and government-contract accounting requirements.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis, plus experience with Oracle, Hyperion Essbase, or similar financial systems.

Nice to have

• Associate's or bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or an equivalent field.
• Understanding of FAR, DFARS, DCAA, DCMA, DoD, Cost Accounting Standards, and the Sarbanes-Oxley Act.
• Experience supporting billing audits.
