Electrical Engineer Intern (Embedded)

Location: Redwood City, California, United States; in-person work required

What you will do

• Design, prototype, and test PCBs for flight and ground systems.
• Develop embedded firmware for board bringup and custom hardware testing.
• Troubleshoot hardware issues and support deployed flight hardware through realtime telemetry.
• Perform bench and environmental testing of electrical systems under extreme conditions.
• Collaborate with mechanical engineers on vehicle integration.
• Coordinate PCBA manufacturing for R&D and production.

Requirements

• Strong fundamentals in embedded circuit and system design.
• Hands-on experience troubleshooting circuit boards and electronic assemblies.
• Ability to read schematics and datasheets.
• Familiarity with embedded firmware development in C/C++ and communication protocols including SPI, I2C, and UART.
• Experience with PCB layout and design tools, including Altium.
• Comfort using oscilloscopes, multimeters, and logic analyzers.

Nice to have

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Interest in RF system development and antenna design.
• Knowledge of power management circuit design.
• Ability to hand-solder 0402 components.
