Network Design Engineer (Secret)

Location: 100% onsite in Scottsdale, Arizona or Huntsville, Alabama, with up to 50% travel during deployment surges. Primary deployment locations include Grand Forks AFB, North Dakota, and Redstone Arsenal, Alabama. Travel may include US and international sites; a US passport is required.

What you will do

• Document network plans and designs, install network components, and configure services to meet project requirements.
• Analyze network topologies, traffic, and capacity requirements for monitoring, maintenance, and event troubleshooting.
• Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot networks across varying classifications between project execution events.
• Implement security configurations, perform network diagnostics, identify corrective actions, and document changes.
• Physically install devices in equipment racks and user workspaces at deployment sites.

Requirements

• US citizenship is required.
• An active DoD Secret clearance is required.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, a related science or technology field, or mathematics with at least 5 years of relevant experience; alternatively, a master’s degree with at least 3 years of relevant experience. Equivalent education with 4 additional years of relevant networking experience is accepted.
• Experience integrating and configuring switches, routers, firewalls, and gateways in IP-based data communications systems using TCP and UDP.
• Experience with Juniper firewall devices, Palo Alto, or Cisco; multicast and routing protocols including BGP and OSPF; vulnerability scanning, hardening, and remediation.
• Strong network troubleshooting and technical documentation skills, with familiarity with AWS networking and services.

Nice to have

• JNCIA-Junos, JNCIP, Cisco CCNP, or DoD 8570.1-M IAT Level 2 certification.
• Familiarity with VMware vSphere, virtual machines, and Red Hat Enterprise Linux.
• Valid passport for deployment travel.
