Manufacturing Engineer I (Lithium-Ion Batteries)

Location: Onsite in De Soto, Kansas, United States. Valid authorization to work in the U.S. without restriction is required.

What you will do

• Apply basic manufacturing engineering principles and support engineering and operations projects.
• Collect data, perform basic process analysis, conduct time studies and process checks, and maintain SOPs and work instructions.
• Support equipment troubleshooting and preventative maintenance to improve uptime and process stability.
• Contribute to process optimization, waste reduction, continuous improvement, and small-scale equipment upgrades.
• Participate in root cause analysis, corrective and preventive actions, quality activities, and safety initiatives.
• Collaborate with production, quality, maintenance, and engineering teams in a high-volume manufacturing environment.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing, mechanical, industrial, electrical, mechatronics engineering, or a closely related STEM field.
• Foundational understanding of engineering principles, mechanical aptitude, and interest in troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
• Ability to use basic data-driven methods and learn technical documentation, including CAD drawings, P&IDs, and manufacturing process instructions.
• Ability to work in both office and production-floor environments with attention to detail.
• Working-level English proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking is required.
• Must have unrestricted authorization to work in the United States.

Nice to have

• Two or more years of engineering experience through internships, co-ops, or entry-level manufacturing roles.
• Experience with high-volume battery manufacturing, electronics, automotive, or energy storage.
• Lean manufacturing or Six Sigma knowledge, including Yellow Belt or Green Belt certification.
• Experience with CAD, automation, PLCs, sensors, MES, industrial data analysis, machine shop equipment, or fabrication tools.
• CMfgT, CAD, or OSHA 30-Hour General Industry certification.
