Staff Diagnostics and Embedded Cyber Security Engineer (Automotive)

Location: Palo Alto, California, United States; hybrid with a requirement to work onsite four or more days per week.

Salary: $150,200–$283,500 per year

What you will do

• Define, design, and develop complex features for next-generation hirify.global electric vehicles.
• Collaborate with hardware, systems, integration, software, and UI/UX teams on requirements and functional test cases.
• Lead diagnosis and improvement of existing embedded features to enhance the customer experience.
• Develop tooling, diagnostic interfaces, and integrations between vehicle access components.
• Integrate software and features into controller codebases.
• Use data-driven analysis tools to verify and diagnose vehicle software in the field.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent relevant experience.
• 10+ years of software engineering experience.
• Hands-on embedded systems development and troubleshooting experience.
• Programming experience in C, C++, and Python.
• Experience with RTOS, Linux, and concurrent systems.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States is required.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience with CAN, LIN, automotive Ethernet, BLE, UWB, NFC, or Wi-Fi.
• Knowledge of Vector or Intrepid tools, MISRA, AUTOSAR, ISO 26262, or Yocto Linux.
• Experience with automotive systems, applications, or technology vendors.
