Senior Software Engineer (ADAS)

Salary: $129,400–$198,400 per year, plus bonus potential

What you will do

• Design and develop production automotive embedded systems across MCU firmware and SoC software using C/C++.
• Translate vehicle requirements into software architectures covering interfaces, communication protocols, data flows, timing, diagnostics, and degraded-mode behavior.
• Build reliable interfaces between real-time MCU applications and SoC services supporting driver controls, alerts, chimes, lighting, haptics, and situational awareness.
• Design predictable behavior across vehicle power states, startup and shutdown sequences, communication faults, watchdog recovery, and constrained operating conditions.
• Collaborate with systems, electrical, HMI, ADAS, platform, supplier, and vehicle integration teams through hardware bring-up, validation, production launch, and field maintenance.
• Lead testing, debugging, tooling improvements, and major vehicle features throughout the development lifecycle; mentor junior engineers.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, software engineering, computer engineering, electrical engineering, or a related field.
• At least 5 years of professional experience developing and shipping embedded software for production products.
• Strong C/C++ experience on both microcontroller and SoC-based platforms.
• System design and software architecture experience, including decomposition of broad requirements into components, interfaces, and technical plans.
• Experience with real-time or resource-constrained MCU software and SoC environments such as Embedded Linux, QNX, or Yocto, including IPC and resource management.
• Experience with integrated embedded-system debugging and testing, version control, code review, build systems, static analysis, and CI/CD workflows.

Nice to have

• Production automotive software experience and familiarity with CAN, LIN, Ethernet, SOME/IP, DBC, or UDS.
• Experience with developer tooling, automated test frameworks, simulation, diagnostics, or debugging utilities.
• Knowledge of ASPICE, ISO 26262, AUTOSAR, or MISRA C/C++.
• Experience designing communication between safety-critical MCU functions and higher-level SoC services.
