Software Developer - Engineering Productivity

Location: Remote - Canada. Regular early-morning or evening calls are required to collaborate with colleagues in Hong Kong.

Base salary: 115,000–145,000 CAD per year, plus equity and performance-based bonus opportunities.

What you will do

• Design and champion internal quality programs and reliability standards across engineering pods.
• Build SDLC observability pipelines using APIs from GitHub, Linear, GCP, Sentry, Grafana, and incident.io.
• Define and automate reporting for deployment and quality metrics, including change failure rate, deployment frequency, lead time, recovery time, and regression rate.
• Architect CI/CD pipeline gates for automated performance, security, and accessibility checks.
• Build load-testing, synthetic-data, and production-canary systems that isolate test traffic from real user telemetry.
• Consolidate legacy testing infrastructure and use AI tooling to accelerate testing frameworks and infrastructure development.

Requirements

• 5+ years of software development experience and proficiency in one or more common programming languages such as Python or Go.
• Experience with developer infrastructure, production telemetry, tool APIs, distributed systems, and declarative infrastructure as code.
• Hands-on experience instrumenting engineering-quality metrics, SLIs/SLOs, or error budgets.
• Experience with public cloud platforms such as GCP or AWS.
• Experience or interest in load and performance testing with tools such as k6, Locust, Gatling, or JMeter, including safe synthetic-data handling.
• Ability to work cross-functionally, communicate effectively, and validate AI-generated code and infrastructure before merging.

Nice to have

• Experience with equivalent tools such as GitLab, Jira, or Datadog.
• Hands-on experience with k6, Locust, Gatling, or JMeter.
