What you will do

• Design and scale hirify.global's core database infrastructure to handle hundreds of terabytes of data.
• Act as a subject matter expert on MySQL and database administration.
• Develop and maintain self-service tooling to empower engineers across the organization.
• Write technical documentation and establish best practices for leveraging MySQL.
• Develop and design comprehensive plans for disaster recovery and system failovers.
• Participate in an on-call rotation to respond to incidents and ensure system health.

Requirements

• Must be based in the United States.
• 7-9+ years of experience in Software Engineering (depending on the level of degree held).
• Proven experience coding in languages such as Go, Ruby, Python, Java, C++, or Rust.
• 3+ years of experience using monitoring tooling to diagnose performance or availability issues.
• Experience delivering and maintaining production-grade software.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with database internals and experience with change management/migrations.
• Experience writing design documents and driving technical consensus.
• Passion for observability and building resilient, scalable systems.
