Installation Technician II - Start Up (Commercial Refrigeration)

Location: Onsite in New Orleans, Louisiana, or Hattiesburg, Mississippi; nights, weekends, and out-of-town work may be required.

What you will do

• Perform startup, commissioning, functionality checks, diagnostics, and preventative maintenance for HVAC, refrigeration, plumbing, electrical, and building automation systems.
• Install, connect, and adjust thermostats, sensors, controllers, mechanical parts, controls, cabling, communication loops, and refrigerant leak systems.
• Read and interpret blueprints, control drawings, specifications, technical manuals, codes, and regulations; identify errors and omissions.
• Coordinate with customers, subcontractors, vendors, and internal managers to ensure proper equipment operation and resolve technical issues.
• Complete accurate customer, invoicing, and EPA documentation while maintaining truck inventory and vehicle standards.
• Work with limited supervision, make technical decisions, lead project activities, and train less-experienced startup technicians.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent plus five years of related experience and/or training, or ten years of related experience and/or training; a technical degree is preferred.
• EPA 608 Certification, level 3.
• Valid driver's license and a safe driving record.
• Ability to climb ladders, work at high elevations, and lift up to 50 pounds.
• Mechanical aptitude, strong communication, organization, time management, customer focus, and project management skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, manage competing priorities, and exercise sound judgment with minimal supervision.
