Senior Satellite & Ground Systems Engineer (Aerospace)

Location: Westminster, Colorado, United States. U.S. Person status and U.S. work authorization are required.

Salary: $109,000–$145,000–$159,500 annually in Colorado, depending on experience, qualifications, skills, location, and market conditions. The position is also incentive eligible.

What you will do

• Lead systems engineering activities across complex space and ground development programs and operational capabilities.
• Define mission concepts, Concepts of Operations, operational scenarios, mission threads, and use cases.
• Develop high-level system architectures spanning spacecraft, payloads, ground systems, software, communications, and operations.
• Elicit, decompose, allocate, and manage system requirements with disciplined traceability.
• Coordinate architecture, integration, analysis, verification, validation, deployment, and sustainment activities across engineering disciplines.
• Drive technical decisions, consensus, and execution across multidisciplinary engineering organizations.

Requirements

• U.S. citizenship or other qualifying U.S. Person status is required due to export control and ITAR requirements.
• Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, or a related technical discipline.
• At least 6 years of professional systems engineering experience in aerospace, defense, robotics, autonomous systems, or other multidisciplinary engineering programs.
• Experience developing system architecture from stakeholder needs through implementation and verification.
• Experience with ConOps, requirements management and traceability, system lifecycle activities, MBSE methodologies, and SysML.
• Strong technical communication and collaboration skills across multiple engineering disciplines.

Nice to have

• 10 or more years of experience with spacecraft, satellite constellations, remote sensing systems, ground systems, or mission operations.
• Experience with optical or RF inter-satellite communications and end-to-end space systems.
• Experience with Cameo Systems Modeler, Enterprise Architect, MagicDraw, STK, IBM DOORS Next, Jama Connect, or Polarion.
• Experience with functional analysis, interface definition, ICDs, formal systems engineering reviews, and verification planning.
• Knowledge of digital engineering, systems engineering standards, agile development, configuration management, Git, Jira, or Confluence.
