Software Test Engineer

Location: 100% remote within the United States

Salary: $105,000–$125,000 annually

What you will do

• Design, build, and continuously improve test automation frameworks.
• Write production-quality automated test code across unit, integration, end-to-end, performance, and security testing.
• Automate UI workflows and REST or gRPC API validation for distributed systems.
• Partner with product, design, engineering, operations, and business stakeholders to translate ambiguous requirements into engineered solutions.
• Contribute through code reviews, design reviews, documentation, and mentoring more junior engineers.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• At least 5 years of experience as an SDET or in test-focused software engineering roles; 6+ years of overall experience listed for the position.
• Strong programming skills in at least one of Java, Python, JavaScript, or C#.
• Hands-on experience with Selenium, Cypress, or Playwright, plus REST or gRPC API automation.
• Working knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, SQL, database validation, microservices, distributed systems, and modern web architectures.
• Excellent debugging, communication, documentation, and Agile/Scrum skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with Pact or Spring Cloud Contract.
• Performance testing with JMeter, Gatling, k6, or Locust.
• Exposure to OWASP ZAP, Burp Suite, or Snyk.
• Familiarity with chaos engineering and resilience testing.
• ISTQB or equivalent QA certification.
