Service Technician- Master (Commercial Refrigeration)

What you will do

• Maintain, diagnose, and repair refrigeration, heating, and air-conditioning systems in supermarkets, convenience stores, and cold storage facilities.
• Perform preventive maintenance on supermarket refrigeration systems and self-contained temperature-controlled merchandisers.
• Partner with technicians on new equipment startups and lead HVAC/R preventive-maintenance programs.
• Troubleshoot complex service calls, advanced electrical and mechanical repairs, EMS controls, wiring diagrams, and refrigeration systems.
• Resolve customer warranty issues and support service estimates, documentation, parts ordering, inventory, and vehicle management.
• Perform refrigerant and oil conversions and provide technical guidance and training to other technicians.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required; an HVAC/R technical school degree is preferred.
• External candidates need 10 years of field experience, or 7 years with technical-school certification. Internal candidates need 7 years of experience with completed OJT and skills assessment.
• EPA 608 Universal Certification and a valid driver’s license with a safe driving record.
• Advanced knowledge of electrical and mechanical repairs, HVAC/R maintenance, wiring and schematic diagrams, EMS programming, compressors, oil systems, VFD motors, airflow testing, and equipment startup.
• Ability to work nights and/or weekends, climb ladders, work at elevations, walk and crouch, and lift or carry up to 50 pounds repeatedly.
• Strong leadership, decision-making, communication, documentation, mechanical aptitude, and business skills.

Nice to have

• Understanding of CO2 refrigeration.
• HVAC/R technical school education.
• Knowledge of commercial refrigeration and HVAC systems.
