Service Technician - Certified (Commercial Refrigeration)

Hussmann provides commercial refrigeration, HVAC, and service solutions for supermarkets, convenience stores, and cold storage facilities.

What you will do

• Perform routine and preventative maintenance on supermarket refrigeration systems and self-contained temperature-controlled merchandisers.
• Diagnose and repair refrigeration, heating, and air-conditioning systems, including racks, piping, compressors, evaporators, condensers, motors, and walk-in cases.
• Search for and repair refrigerant leaks, solder copper connections, install drain piping, and support equipment installation.
• Troubleshoot TEVs, electrical systems, airflow, motors, defrost systems, compressors, and parallel rack layouts.
• Complete work tickets, timesheets, customer paperwork, invoicing, and electronic communications accurately.
• Manage truck inventory, maintain the company vehicle, and communicate equipment malfunctions professionally to customers.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Five years of field experience, or three years of experience with a technical school certification; internal candidates need one year as a qualified technician plus OJT and skills assessment.
• EPA 608 Universal Certification.
• Valid driver’s license and a safe driving record in accordance with fleet policy.
• Knowledge of basic electrical schematics, refrigeration systems, HVAC, mechanical maintenance, and hand tools.
• Ability to work nights and/or weekends, climb ladders, work at elevations, and repeatedly lift or carry up to 50 pounds.

Nice to have

• HVAC-R technical school degree.
• Commercial refrigeration experience.
