Service Technician - Master (Commercial Refrigeration)

What you will do

• Maintain, diagnose, and repair supermarket refrigeration, heating, and air-conditioning systems.
• Partner with technicians to start up new refrigeration equipment and retail store systems.
• Troubleshoot complex service calls involving electrical systems, mechanical repairs, EMS controls, wiring diagrams, and schematics.
• Serve as a technical resource and lead HVAC/R preventive maintenance programs.
• Resolve customer warranty issues and support service estimates and potential sales opportunities.
• Complete service documentation, manage truck inventory and parts, and maintain the assigned vehicle.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required; an HVAC-R technical school degree is preferred.
• At least 10 years of field experience, or 7 years with a technical school certification; internal candidates require 7 years of experience with OJT and skills assessment.
• EPA 608 Universal Certification and a valid driver's license with a safe driving record.
• Advanced knowledge of electrical and mechanical repairs, commercial refrigeration, HVAC maintenance, EMS programming, compressor operating parameters, oil systems, controls, VFDs, and complex wiring diagrams.
• Ability to work nights and/or weekends, climb ladders, work at high elevations, and lift or carry objects up to 50 pounds.
• Strong communication, leadership, decision-making, business, documentation, and teaching skills.

Nice to have

• Understanding of CO2 refrigeration systems.
• HVAC-R technical school degree.
