In Vivo Research Associate II (Neuroscience)

Location: Palo Alto, California, United States; onsite at the Palo Alto headquarters

Base salary: $75,900 per year, excluding benefits and other compensation.

What you will do

• Plan, execute, analyze, and troubleshoot in vivo research experiments with a high degree of independence.
• Perform mouse experiments, including stereotaxic surgeries, intracranial, intravenous, and intraperitoneal injections.
• Collect and process tissue using vibratome or cryostat sectioning, immunostaining, and imaging.
• Follow federal, institutional, and local IACUC and AAALAC requirements for animal research.
• Analyze and present data at subgroup meetings and seminars.
• Maintain detailed lab documentation and organized laboratory records.

Requirements

• BS with at least 2 years of relevant experience, or an MS, in molecular biology, neuroscience, or a related field.
• Strong laboratory animal experience, including handling, restraint, approved-protocol procedures, injections, and perfusions.
• Excellent organization, attention to detail, time management, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a research environment.
• Ability to work some weekends as needed, with days off potentially swapped to weekdays.

Nice to have

• Cloning experience using Gibson assembly or Golden Gate protocols; library cloning experience is a plus.
• Experience with NGS library preparation, especially single-cell and spatial workflows.
• Computational skills in Python or R.
